OWN THE LOOKS
It can be tricky to remember the names of piercings and where they are on your body. Use our interactive diagram to learn more.
Any accessory suggestions are for fully healed piercings and are a style guide so please check your size with a piercer before purchasing as everyone's ear anatomy is unique.

Wherever you are in your journey, it's worth bearing in mind that cartilage piercings are a commitment and most will take at least 6 months to heal.
The first thing to do is have a good look at your ears and assess what space and current piercings you have.
Next, think about your style, and whether you want to wear yellow or white gold or both!
The next step is to go to a reputable piercer and ask them whether the piercings you want will work with your ear anatomy. Let them know what future piercings you're planning so that they can pierce with that in mind.
If you've only got your lobes pierced then starting with a second or third lobe can be a good way to ease into the trend. Flat and tragus piercing are also very cute and can take less time to heal than the helix or conch.
A stacked lobe is also a real winner - it has a short healing time and looks really elegant.
Healing times can vary but expect to wait at least 3-6 months for cartilage (many piercings can take longer) and slightly less for lobes.
